YPP: Sustainability & Technological Transformation
On 30 September, we had the pleasure of, together with our host Cirio, welcoming our Young Patrons to the third session of the Young Patrons’ Programme, exploring Sustainability and Technological Transformation.
The seminar focused on the evolving role of sustainability, AI and responsible digitalisation, as well as the regulatory and competitiveness challenges connected to sustainability and technological transformation. We were pleased to welcome Annika Ramsköld, Vice President of Corporate Sustainability at Vattenfall, as our speaker.
A key theme was the geopolitical impact on the role of sustainability within organisations, including how businesses can build more resilient and sustainable organisations. The discussion also explored how sustainability has evolved from CSR, to compliance, to strategy – and increasingly towards resilience, security and futureproofing. Participants discussed the balance between phasing out fossil fuels and the growing energy demands of new technologies and AI, as well as how companies can respond to political changes, including the retreat from inclusion and sustainability initiatives.
We extend our gratitude to Annika for generously sharing her expertise, and to Caroline Olstedt Carlström, the Cirio team, and Cirio for hosting us.
A special acknowledgment is also due to the Young Patrons, whose engaging discussions contributed to the success of the evening. We look forward to seeing you all in November for further discussions.
