Executive Forum Roundtable Dinner - Christian Cederholm
During our first executive forum dinner of 2026, we had the pleasure of inviting our patron members to Hammarskiöld to network and listen to our esteemed guest Christian Cederholm, CEO of Investor.
Christian told us about the interesting history of Investor and how the company have grown into what it is today. He emphasised their focus on building long-term relationships with the companies they own, and the importance on maintaining a will to make their businesses better for customers and generate an attractive total return to shareholders.
In the discussion that followed, particular attention was given to leadership and the role of long-term ownership in value creation. Christian emphasised that Investor’s model is built on being a long-term, active owner, working closely with its companies to strengthen performance over time rather than focusing on short-term gains. Generating an attractive total return to shareholders remains the ultimate objective, supported by the company’s strategic pillars: driving performance in both the short and long term, positioning the portfolio for future growth, and ensuring the right leadership and competencies are in place.
Leadership, he noted, is especially important in a turbulent and rapidly changing global environment. The ability to remain clear in direction, maintain integrity, and stay focused on long-term goals — even amid geopolitical uncertainty and technological disruption — is critical. Culture also plays a central role in value creation. A meritocratic approach, combined with diversity and inclusivity, was highlighted as strengthening decision-making and supporting sustainable results over time. Throughout the conversation, the importance of consistency, integrity, and long-term commitment emerged as defining features of Investor’s ownership philosophy.
