Financial Outlook: Anja Heimann | HSBC
On December 5, the Chamber welcomed members to a financial outlook with Anja Heimann, Economist for Germany & Scandinavia at HSBC.
Anja provided an overview of key themes currently shaping the economic outlook in Europe. Drawing on her experience in European macroeconomics, Anja outlined the broader trends across the Eurozone, the UK, and the Nordic region, including steady but moderate growth, ongoing inflation normalisation, and varying fiscal approaches among major economies. She highlighted selected areas of relevance for the months ahead, such as infrastructure and energy investment, competitiveness in a shifting global landscape, and the implications of demographic and structural factors for long-term growth.
Members engaged in a thoughtful Q&A, raising questions on topics including opportunities and challenges within Europe, Germany’s economic outlook, capital access, technological developments such as AI, and the current environment for M&A activity. The discussion reflected a strong interest in how these themes may influence business decisions and the regional investment climate.
We extend our sincere thanks to Anja Heimann for her valuable insights, to Kristian Terling for his support in organising the event, to HSBC for their generous hospitality, and to all our members who joined us for an engaging and timely discussion.
