Late Summer Drinks Reception and Annual Address 2026
On 10 September 2026, we were delighted to welcome our members to the Late Summer Drinks Reception 2026, hosted by Eidra. We had the privilege to listen to Tom Standage give a preview on The World Ahead 2027, where he provided valuable insights into the future landscape amid ongoing global shifts.
We also had the privilege of listening to experts Anne-Marie Eklund Löwinder, cyber expert; H.E. Samantha Job CMG MVO, British Ambassador to Sweden; and Mats Granryd, Chairman of the Boards of Vattenfall and Business Sweden, in a dynamic panel discussion on resilience, AI, and energy in today’s rapidly evolving environment.
The panel explored how rapid global changes are shaping the future, from geopolitics and economic uncertainty to technology, energy, and security. Speakers highlighted the importance of resilience, adaptability, and cooperation in navigating an increasingly complex environment. Discussions also touched on changing global power dynamics, the growing importance of strategic independence, and the need for stronger regional and international partnerships. AI was seen as both a major opportunity for innovation and a challenge requiring careful consideration of cybersecurity, human expertise, and technological dependency.
The engaging panel was followed by a lively drinks reception, where around 120 of our members had the opportunity to continue the discussions and network.
