Panel discussion at Svenska Handelsbanken with Lord Stephen Green amongst other

On Monday 23 January we had the extraordinary opportunity to listen to a very interesting panel discussion between Lord Stephen Green, Minister for Trade and Investment, Jens Henriksson, President of NASDAQ OMX Stockholm and Pär Boman, CEO of Svenska Handelsbanken with Ambassador H.E. Paul Johnston as moderator at Svenska Handelsbanken. The theme was An international marketplace: What governments, regulators and businesses need to succeed in today’s challenging times. Each panel participant had the opportunity to describe what they believe is important for businesses, governments and regulators had to do to succeed, ideas such as expanding to emerging markets, do not allocate profits that a subsidiary makes but let that subsidiary expand with their market and do not concentrate in doing right but avoiding doing wrong, were presented. Read more about the discussion in the upcoming newsletter.

Thank you Svenska Handelsbanken for hosting the panel discussion and for providing us with valuable information!

Christmas Drinks at the British Residence

Yesterday, we spent a lovely evening with some 60 BSCC members and the British Ambassador H.E. Paul Johnston and his wife, at the British Residence to celebrate the end of the year in real British spirits.

The evening was spent in both a serious and a relaxed manner as the Ambassador spoke on the topic of the current economic situation today and people were mingling pleasantly amongst each other. There were 5 happy winners of the Christmas lottery with the Olympic Games in London 2012 prices.

Thank you Ambassador Paul Johnston for the lovely canapés, mulled wine and for hosting the Christmas Drink at the British Residence.

Supported by the British Embassy

There is a close cooperation between the British Embassy and the Chamber. The Ambassador H. E. Paul Johnston is Honorary Chairman of the Chamber. The Chamber also has on the board the Head of the UK Trade and Investment at the Embassy.
