Welcome to The British-Swedish Chamber of Commerce
The British-Swedish Chamber of Commerce is a net-working organisation that consists of around 120 member companies all of whom are interested, or engaged, in trade between Sweden and the UK. The objective of the Chamber is to promote, study, extend, advance and protect commercial and industrial relations between our two countries.
We create interesting forums where senior executives of international companies come together with leaders from political, economic and business life.
Ministor for European affairs, David Lidington visits Fredrikhovs Slotts Skola
David Lidington, the new Minister for European affairs in the UK government visitson June 7, Fredrikshovs Slotts Skola in Stockholm during his first journey abroad as minister. The School was nominated for the visit by the Ministry for Education. THe visit was very much appreciated by the minister. THe new UK government is studying the Friskolesystem for possible introduction in the UK,

News from the AGM of BSCC
We welcome Lars Wiklund, Honorary Consul for the UK in Gothenburg to the Board of BSCC. Lars together with Philip Sheppard from SHB and Helene Hennmark Olsson, previous secretary general of BSCC has been elected to the Board of BSCC. We also thank Lars Åke Helgeson for his time in the Board as first vice chairman. He is now replaced by Jan-Carl De Geer. Furthermore, we thank Edward Waller for his long-term support of the chamber. Edward has supported the Financial and Legal Committee and has been elected Honorary Consul of BSCC.
There is a close cooperation between the British Embassy and the Chamber. The Ambassador H E Andrew Mitchell is Honorary Chairman of the Chamber. The Chamber also has on the board the Head of the UK Trade and Investment at the Embassy. The Ambassador is here seen with the Chairman of the Board Mr Björn Savén.
2009 UK companies in Sweden
The report is compiled by the British Chamber of Commerce and the UK Trade & Invest department. It includes a detailed register over all British companies currently in Sweden. Of the 1300 British owned companies, the 381 largest are divided into geographical locations, Stockholm, Gothenbourg and Malmö, and by sector, Consumer goods, Life Science, Information and Technology, Engineering and Others.
